Jess and Troy had a clear idea of how they wanted their engagement photos to feel, kicking off with cocktails at their favourite bar (a block away from where they live), followed by a stroll around the neighbourhood. We were graced with some pretty incredible late afternoon light and a simple warmth holding the promise of warmer, brighter days!

The bar, with its warm ambiance and familiar faces, provided a perfect setting to capture the couple’s genuine smiles and shared laughter. The comfort and ease between them were palpable, making it a perfect start to their engagement session.
After enjoying their signature cocktails, we took a leisurely stroll around Yaletown, capturing candid moments amidst the historic charm and modern elegance of the neighbourhood. As we wandered, the late afternoon light began to cast a golden hue, adding a magical touch to each shot. The simple warmth in the air held the promise of warmer, brighter days ahead, perfectly mirroring the excitement and joy of Troy and Jessica’s upcoming summer wedding.
Our final destination was the iconic Vancouver City Library. Known for its grand curved architecture reminiscent of the Colosseum. The play of light and shadows (and a photobombing pigeon) made for some pretty dramatic shots.
This engagement session was a beautiful reflection of Troy and Jessica’s love story. From the familiarity of their favourite bar to the urban charm of Yaletown and the dramatic elegance of the Vancouver City Library, each location added a unique element to their photos. This sweet couple's love for each other and their shared vision made this engagement session a joy to capture, and we can’t wait to document their wedding day at Hycroft Manor.
