From the outset, AJ and Vivian envisioned a wedding that exuded romance and timeless elegance, infused with elements that reflected their personalities. Both originating from Calgary, where the majestic Rockies hold a special place in their hearts, they initially sought a mountain venue to highlight nature's grandeur. However, fate guided them to The Norland in Lethbridge - a historic estate enveloped by towering trees and rich with its own romantic allure.

“AJ and Kris are a DREAM to work with. We were so lucky to have this insanely talented pair shoot our wedding. They are so creative with places to shoot that result in epic and beautiful shots. Plus they are fun to be around and make you feel very comfortable in front of the camera. A part of the reason I felt so calm about the day is because I knew I was in good hands!”

While Norland isn't nestled in the mountains, its lush surroundings and historic charm perfectly aligned with Vivian and AJ’s vision for their wedding. The venue's ability to host all festivities outdoors was pivotal, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in nature while celebrating with loved ones. They opted for a neutral and classic colour palette, allowing the natural foliage to serve as a picturesque backdrop. Cont’d after gallery.

AJ's familial ties to Lethbridge added a profound layer of significance to their choice, deepening their connection to the venue and the area. Although their ceremony didn't take place amidst mountain peaks, they capturedcmountain photos during an adventurous session in Kananaskis the following day - a homage to their shared love for the outdoors.

Personal Touches and Meaningful Details

Throughout the day, AJ and Vivian interwove meaningful elements that mirrored their travels and personal adventures. The tea featured in their ceremony was discovered during a memorable trip to Singapore, while Vivian's bespoke red ao dai was meticulously crafted by artisans they encountered in Vietnam. The carefully curated playlists set the tone for each event, underscoring their passion for music and fostering an atmosphere of celebration. Having a friend DJ their after-party and another friend serenade them with an acoustic guitar during the wedding procession added an extra layer of intimacy.

The Venue and Its Charms

The Norland Historic Estate captivated AJ and Vivian with its timeless allure and intimate setting. Enveloped by trees and steeped in history, the estate provided an idyllic canvas for their celebration. Its proximity to Lethbridge, where AJ's heart, imparted an additional sentimental touch to their wedding day.

Memorable Moments

"During the reception when the light diffused through the trees just right and when we looked out at our guests, it took my breath away when it finally hit who was all there. Page & Holmes actually captured this moment in the photos." Vivian recalls.

AJ and Vivian's wedding at The Norland and Rocky Mountain adventure session encapsulated their unique love story, blending natural beauty with personal flourishes that reflected their journey together. Surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated a day filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories.
