For those who haven't had the pleasure of visiting, Koerner's Pub is an oasis of rustic charm tucked away in the heart of UBC. Think cozy interiors, lush garden spaces, and an atmosphere that whispers, "relax and enjoy." A perfect backdrop for a wedding that blends casual elegance with heartfelt emotion.

“Kris and AJ have a way of conveying emotion through their images that even when I look at their photos of other people, I feel like I'm there. As a wedding photographer myself, I am so inspired by their talent and truly feel like each image is a work of art. Their eye for composition and unique angles is what is so captivating about their photos. On top of all that, they're just amazing people.”

Photographing a wedding is always a privilege, but when the couple happens to be your friends and fellow creatives in the wedding industry, the honour (and the pressure) skyrockets. Aileen and Nik's wedding at Koerner's Pub at UBC this fall was one for the books. Really quite impossible to sum up all we felt while capturing this incredible day. But we are going to try… Cont’d after gallery.

First of all, Aileen and Nik are exceptionally talented creatives! We naturally feel the heat a little more when capturing a fellow wedding photographer’s day, especially one like Aileen Choi. But they are so easy to capture, beautiful yes, and two of the kindest, most fun, and genuine souls you’ll meet! It's a rare treat to photograph people who not only appreciate the craft but also understand the nuances and subtleties that make each shot special.

SO MANY TEARS! And so much joy too. These two laughed and cried their way through their day and truly soaked in every moment. Their personal vows were deep, authentic, and humorous. Another one of our favourite moments was watching Aileen boogie on the dancefloor with her dad. It's these candid, unscripted moments that truly capture the essence of the day.

I mean, just look at Nik’s green suit and Aileen’s tailored jumpsuit. Her mum sewed on the pearl train, and the cream jacket was from her dad’s wedding suit. Talk about a family affair! The attention to detail and the personal touches made their outfits not only stylish but also deeply meaningful.

These two have such a tight-knit family and friendship group. We loved hearing more of their story and their histories from the ones who know them best. Also, always fun to see familiar faces from the wedding industry. It’s a testament to Aileen and Nik's character that they have surrounded themselves with such a supportive and loving community.

To sum it up, Aileen and Nik's wedding was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and tears. It was an honour to capture their day, and we couldn't be happier for these two amazing souls. Here's to many more adventures, both behind and in front of the lens!
